Here is a second entry that I’ve taken from my month long creative writing course. The prompt is: “You stumble upon a random letter on the path. You read it. It affects you deeply, and you wish it could be returned to the person to which it’s addressed. Write a story about this encounter.” With the twist being to be as brief as possible. Here it goes!
Every morning I feel so rushed! I’m racing to the metro to get to work on time. I should have left 5 minutes ago. I’m walking across the brick entryway to go underground, but I notice that there is a post card on the ground. I bend over and pick it up in stride.
“Dear Scandal,
I saw you skate at the last DC Rollergirls bout. You are awesome, graceful and fast on 8 wheels. You’re beautiful and have inspired me to start skating. Thank you for being a super hero!

The women who skate roller derby are all amazing. Yankee Scandal is truly an exceptional skater and I hope she knows it. I notice that the postcard doesn’t have a stamp. I take one out of my wallet and put the card in the mail drop before continuing on my way to work. She deserves to know that she inspires!
Aaw that’s one lovely post 🙂 Kudos to those amazing women ❤
